Dentists

Dr Simon Moy BDS | Principal Dentist

Simon Moy is the principal dentist at Belconnen Dental Centre. He grew up in New Zealand and completed his degree at Otago University in 1994, working first as a general dentist in Young, before moving to Canberra in 1998, when he started at Belconnen Dental Centre. 

Simon is very well respected and well liked in the Canberra dental community. He spends considerable time collaborating with other clinicians and dental specialists to ensure the best possible treatment outcomes for his patients. He’s also passionate about continuing education and enjoys all facets of dentistry; in particular, cad-cam restorations and implants. Simon loves living in Canberra with his family but remains a loyal All-Blacks supporter. In 2021 Simon began studying Wine Science at University which he is very happy to discuss with anyone that will listen. 

Dr Kahee Jun BDS | Dentist 

Kahee grew up in New Zealand and completed her degree at the University of Otago. After two years of public service in Wellington Hospital, she relocated to Queensland, where she worked for eight years as a general dentist before recently moving to Canberra with her husband. Kahee is passionate about changing the way people view dentistry and enjoys helping patients overcome their fear of dentistry.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and loves the variety that working in a general practice brings. In her spare time, Kahee enjoys going on adventures with her Husband and Daughter, she also likes keeping fit and Cooking.

Dr Teresa Hwang BDS | Dentist

Teresa grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University. She worked at Christchurch Hospital and was involved in research with the Maxillofacial Department. She was subsequently able to produce a journal article which was published in the British Medical Journal. She sat her Primary examinations for the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in 2010.

Teresa then moved back to Australia to work in Sydney and Wollongong, before joining the team at Belconnen Dental Centre in 2014.
Teresa looks after patients of all ages. She has a friendly and gentle, patient-centered approach to dental care, ensuring that all her patients are comfortable. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and in particular children’s dentistry, cosmetic, restorative and preventative treatment.

Outside of dentistry, Teresa likes to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys reading, skiing and travelling.

Oral Health Therapists

Laura Foo | Oral Health Therapist

Laura graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2016 and completed her clinical placements in both metropolitan and rural places in Victoria. Laura worked first as an Oral Health Therapist in Queensland and Queanbeyan, before joining the team here at Belconnen Dental Centre in 2019.

As an active member of ADOHTA and DHAA, Laura attends continuing education and dental health awareness workshops to help educate the community about oral disease prevention. Laura takes pride in ensuring all her patients receive the highest quality of care in a fun and comfortable environment. Outside of work, Laura enjoys travelling and food.

Jaimie Mciver | Oral Health Therapist

Jaimie graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Oral Health (Therapy/Hygiene). After finishing her studies, she relocated back home to the Yass/Canberra area where she worked in general dental, specialist periodontic and orthodontic practices. Jaimie has a gentle approach to treating patients and she has a special interest in treating and managing periodontal disease.

In her spare time Jaimie enjoys spending time with family and friends, horse riding, pilates and water skiing.
